Happiness as your recollection brought me back 30 years to that classroom upstairs of NFS facing 413 and sad as well, that was so long a go when life was free, blah, blah blah and now I am old<br />. I can see you in your striped sweater getting wacked and still snickering...at the same time I could see Mr. Smith's snicker as well. Thank you for sharing with us. You are a truly gifted writer Kevin. I have two boys, one of whom has a similar sensibility as you may have had at his age (he is 6). Liz Brown and I are still good friends and she lives in DC., I am going to share your post with her as she was one (by association of her brother) who also got the "stick" at times and she and I still always get a good chuckle about Mr. Smith.Zandrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17856160063304314352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7298084806192039864.post-32755244060981153172012-05-16T06:43:43.838-07:002012-05-16T06:43:43.838-07:00Kevin, this is fantastic!!! My favorite Mr. Smith ...Kevin, this is fantastic!!! My favorite Mr. Smith saying was "Child, stand up, your brains are burning." I think I went on to study neuroscience just to see how sitting caused overly heated brains. Just two weeks ago I gave a reading of a Robert Frost poem (Acquainted With The Night) and thought of Mr. Smith.Ben Walkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10723777358709061066noreply@blogger.com
